Common Ergonomic chair & desk design considerations and materials to choose?

Main materials for Ergonomic desk Design

While selecting the materials, try to use quality materials.

Plywood is an economic and reliable option to consider. If plywood is considered, please use the “BWR grade IS 303” plywood. If the drawer is going to be in moisture prone areas, better use “BWP grade IS 710” plywood. Recommended to use 18mm thick plywood sheets. Use a reasonable brand laminates when plywood is used. But if you are tight in budget and sure that the furniture will not be exposed to water, then you can use MR Plywood (known as  commercial plywood). Ensure that you have the laminates applied on the plywood to get the good look as well as improved water resistance capability. Refer plywood selection guide in my Blog to know how you can source good quality plywood type at reasonable price.

Major Brands are Century Plywood (including Sharon Plywood ), GreenPly, KitPly etc. More than Brand, right type of plywood make the different. Example – Using BWP plywood should be used at Kitchen instead of BWR.

Select the laminate sheet of your choice with at least 1mm thickness. Have the laminates applied to the rear side of the table which gets in contact with the wall as moisture may create issues to plywood if left without the laminate. Low cost 1mm laminates can be applied to the hidden areas like inside the drawers etc.

When choosing laminates for white board, select the specific laminate of 1mm thickness for white board for better quality writing and wiping.

Have the cable manager hole on table top to route the cables from monitors and printers.

Fitting materials for Ergonomic chair and desk seating Design

Branded telescopic ball bearing type channel is the economical and reliable option for draw channels. Options such as the Hettich brand can be considered as reliability is important. In a shorter period of time, cheaper makes may tend to rust. However, any reasonable brand such as Ebco with telescopic channels of IS 304 grade Stainless Steel can provide a smooth draw operation. You can use the same brand to select the ready-made keyboard tray.

Keyboard Tray may be optional but still recommended to go for it as you may have a computer later point in time. As it is an inexpensive item, better to get on day one. Refer the post how to maintain the best seating positions while working in computer. It will help you to understand the importance of hand position and the importance of Keyboard tray. You may also refer the complete guide to office ergonomics at ViewSonic Office Ergonomics Complete Guide. If keyboard tray is not fixed, you can leave the space empty for having the provision to fix it on a later date.

Ergonomic chair & ergonomic desk design dimensions & options

Go for drawers as much as possible even if it is discouraged by your interior vendor or carpenter. Because draw involves more work for contractor while it is of great help for the user, particularly in scenarios such as accessing the content at lower levels inside the cup board.

Make or Buy the Ergonomic desk ?

The ideal option is to get the design assembled during the interior work of your new home with the necessary modification to meet your taste.

Alternatively, in a local furniture shop you can get this design assembled by a carpenter. You can use wood or plywood to do this. Plywood can be a cost-effective and reliable option. To select the right type of plywood, refer to the previous paragraph.

Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a
    bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s
    still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of
    yourself during the coronavirus scare!

    Hi,

We’re wondering if you’ve ever considered taking the content from ideasforcomfort.com and converting it into videos to promote on Youtube using Content Samurai?

It’s another ‘rod in the pond’ in terms of traffic generation, as so many people use Youtube.

You can read a bit more about the software here: https://turntextintovideo.com

    Kind Regards,

  7. Hey there just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the
pictures aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I
think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.
